The Full Story

Born in Oxford, Clara's formal classical training began aged 7. It was clear early on that music would play a huge part in her life. Upon gaining Grade 8 Violin (distinction), Clara went on to reach an equal standard on Oboe and Cor Anglais.

Pursuing her love of instruments, she continued to teach herself many more including piano, saxophone, bassoon, trumpet, drum kit and guitar, to name a few. These skills allowed her to gain a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Music from Dartington College of Arts, University of Plymouth, where she specialised in Contemporary and World Music Traditions. Feeling a deep desire to pass this knowledge on, Clara took a Postgraduate Certificate of Education in Secondary Music at Westminster Institute of Education, Oxford Brookes University and began a career in music education. From that point she has taught music and held leadership positions at many prestigious international schools around the world including Harrow International School, Bangkok, Oporto British School, Porto, and King's College School, Madrid.

Since moving back to the UK, Clara has completed a Master's Degree in Music Therapy through the University of the West of England, Bristol. This has enabled her to further develop her musical knowledge and understanding whilst using her musical skills with a wider range of people. More recently, Clara has completed her training as a Neurologic Music Therapist in Hamburg trough the NMT Academy, specialising in treating those with neurological conditions.
